Sports
Although swimming in the North Sea is always quite a brave undertaking it is actually very pleasant at Dunwich, if a bit pebbly. Minsmere and Walberswick are easier on the feet and great for sand castle building but there is an excellent sports centre and swimming pool at Leiston if you prefer the water a bit warmer.

Dunwich is a popular offshore fishing beach and boats can be hired from many spots along the coast. There are numerous golf courses, although Aldeburgh, Southwold and Thorpeness are the nearest and there is a Horse and pony trekking centre in Wikham Market.

Eating Out
There are several places to eat in Dunwich itself offering a good variety for both taste and budget.

The Ship Inn on St James' Street offers superb fish and chips as well as more refined fare in the Focsle bar. The Flora Tea rooms, right on the beach, are famous for their fish and chips and have benches outside with a lovely view of the marshes.

The café at the National trust is a perfect place to end a lovely coastal stroll and the Bridge Café serve delicious lunches to fortify yourselves before admiring the wonderful collection of plants in the nursery and exploring Dunwich forest.

A recent addition to the eatery's of Dunwich is the Cliff Inn, serving delicious meals seven days a week only a short walk from Tower Bungalow towards Dunwich Heath.

Walking
This area of the coast is perfect for walking, or indeed strolling if you prefer and dogs are welcome. Bicycles can be hired from Darsham if you are feeling lively and there are many delightful paths to follow through woodland, forest or heath, or along the beach to another village and another Pub!

Bit of Culture
If you feel in need of a bit of culture the concerts in the Maltings at Snape are a must, and the performances at the Summer Theatre's in Southwold and Aldeburgh are truly excellent. There are also cinemas in both Leiston and Aldeburgh showing recent releases as well as some old favourites.

Bird Watching
Of course the world-renowned Minsmere Bird Reserve is only a short walk from tower bungalow and is well worth a visit.
